PCOS and intermittent fasting

I am a specialist Gynecologist and a certified Life and weight coach. I strongly believe that intermittent fasting is one of the best ways of naturally correcting insulin resistance.

It works especially well for women with obese PCOS, who have been told to lose weight to correct their problems.

It can be very scary in the beginning, with low sugar symptoms like headaches, dizziness, weakness, and feeling cold. But I promise you that your body would make you take corrective actions before damage is done. By that I mean, you would lie down, hydrate yourself, do some breathing exercises, and if you have a sugar checking machine- check glucose levels. Worst case scenario is that you would have to break your fast with a snack. That is it.

Our body is beautifully programmed to keep us comfortable and avoid pain. So in the beginning, it will create near-death experiences and make you fall off the plan. Take it as a strenuous workout that makes you feel “it’s going to kill you”.

Trust your body. All it needs is energy. If you don’t give in, it will access fat stores.

Many doctors who recommend to avoid intermittent fasting with PCOS, do so because they haven’t tried it themselves and because there isn’t much research about it.

I have PCOS and I have been doing intermittent fasting with no flour no sugar for 6 days a week for more than 2 years. I have lost more than 20 kgs and maintained my goal weight. I have corrected most of the reversible effects of PCOS like irregular periods, scanty periods, furthering hair loss.

It is so amazing that I decided to preach about it.

Also, the reason it is so difficult to stop snacking or overeating is because we are emotionally ADDICTED to processed food.

I teach to realistically plan and follow the plan to practice intermittent fasting to reach a goal weight, using mindset management tools. This plan is assessed and changed daily depending on what works, what doesn’t, and what to do differently TOOLS.

It is the most natural way of losing weight, without any medication.

JUST by managing your mind.

Try it yourself, as long as you are not pregnant and not having heavy periods.

It is a beautiful way to lose weight, feeling empowered over PCOS.
